After a period of serving as an energy trading firm, Harbour Equity Partners (HEP) began focusing exclusively on arbitrage transactions in January 2011. Contracted for the dealership of gold dust and doré harvested in mines throughout West Africa, Harbour Equity Partners ships these elements into the United States through such transport companies as Africa West Cargo, Dunbar Armored, and Damco. Upon arrival in the U.S., the raw materials are sent to refineries to be allotted values and sold in the public financial market. Harbour Equity Partners takes the profits from these sales and creates multiple credit lines that, in turn, are used to leverage the company’s ability to distribute. Through this process, Harbour Equity Partners is able to accelerate transactions and increase the number of purchasing contracts. The result is a return on investment that is expected to surpass traditional marketplace values. In 2010, HEP reported a profit estimate of up to $50 million per month. Frank Romano, Harbour Equity Partners’ Chief Operating Officer, got his start in the business working as an energy trader for Fimat USA Inc. and the ABN-AMRO Group. In these positions, Romano focused specifically on risk management and the development of hedge fund strategies. He brought skills in these areas to Harbour Equity Partners, where he currently implements a procedure similar to a hedge fund by simultaneously engaging in both short- and long-term transactions, in order to achieve an exemplary profit margin. Romano hopes to use this increased cash flow to give back to the community, creating a revenue stream devoted solely to providing ongoing, monthly financial contributions to charitable organizations.
